If you have visited and inspected an asset without using the KaarbonTech GullySMART app on your tablet, you can retroactively add the inspection into the system in the Data & Insights hub.
Note: This is not recommended, as inspections and any other work should be logged on the tablet at the time and location of the works.
Adding an Inspection
Inspecting an asset allows you to record your visit to the asset and input the required information . The steps are the same for all drainage assets, but the questions may be slightly different for groups. Enter as much information as you can.
From the map screen, navigate to the asset in question. This can be done by moving the map, or searching for the asset ID using the Find Menu.
Click the required asset.

Click New Inspection.

The asset information page is displayed.
Note: Every system is slightly different as it is customised for each customer. Some of the questions and/or photo uploads may be mandatory, and some may be checkbox lists rather than searchable fields.
You do not need to answer every question. You may skip any that are not mandatory or are irrelevant to your inspection.
Traffic Management
Click the Accessible drawer.

Click to set the reason for the asset not being accessible if relevant. If the asset was inaccessible for any reason, you should upload a photo (see below) showing the obstruction before saving the inspection.

Click to set the traffic management method used to access the asset. Choose the relevant value here if you had to set up any traffic management to access the asset or provide a safe working environment.
Inspection details
When carrying out an inspection, it is advisable to input as much information as possible. Unless the asset is inaccessible you should always answer the following fields:
- Operational on Arrival
- Cover Condition
- Silt Level
- Silt Defects
- Cleaned Yes/No
- Operational on Leaving
Also complete any other mandatory questions required by your organisation.
If you are recording remedial works, you only need to answer the relevant questions and provide photos of the work undertaken.
Click the Silt Level Unset drawer.

Click to select the Operational status of the asset on arrival.

Click to select the Cover Condition..

Click to select the Silt level at inspection.

Click to select any relevant Silt Defects.

Scroll to and click whether the asset was Cleaned or not.

Scroll to and click to select the Operational Status on Leaving

Once all relevant information has been entered, Click No Photos to open the Photos drawer.
Your system may have Before and After photos configured, in which case click either the No before photos or No After Photos drawer.

Click Choose file to upload a photo. Browse to the file on your computer and select it.

Add any final comments to the Any comments box, and set the time and date of the historic inspection.
Note: You will not be able to save the inspection until you have set the date and time, and it cannot be set to the future.

Click Save to save the inspection.
